A compact recording studio in Amsterdam-West: three rooms, dedicated engineers and rates you can check before you book.
Why Fractaltrail exists
We opened in 2018 so bands and solo artists can record, mix and master under one roof without changing address each step. The live room is large enough to play together; booths keep vocals controlled while you listen in the control room.
No rotating freelancers: Maarten van Dijk handles scheduling and recording, Sophie Bakker focuses on stereo mix and Yusuf El Amrani on mastering and podcast. Whoever sends your quote is often at the faders too.
The rooms
Live room — 45 m²
Decoupled floor, panels and diffusers for a neutral but not dead sound. Up to 6 musicians with individual headphone mixes.
Vocal booths — 12 m² each
Two iso booths for lead, backing, voice-over and dubbing. Sight lines and talkback to the control room.
Control room
Hybrid desk, nearfields and a separate mastering corner for mastering sessions.
Gear and upkeep
About 18 microphones are ready — dynamic, condenser and ribbon — plus DI boxes, preamps and patchbay. We pick per voice or instrument without a brand parade on the site.
Maintenance and calibration stay in-house; we replace faulty cables immediately so sessions do not stall.
Getting here
Overtoom 376A, 1054 JT Amsterdam (Amsterdam-West). Tram 1 and 7 stop Overtoom (Hoofddorpweg), 3 minutes’ walk to Overtoom 376A. Bike parking in front; on-street parking with permit or Q-Park Baarsjes 600 m away.
Hours: Tuesday–Saturday 10:00–22:00; closed Mondays (pick-up by appointment).. Questions about accessibility? Email [email protected] before booking — we will find a workable setup together.

- Archive with limitsWe keep sessions 24 months, then delete — maintain your own backups.
